Active Ministries:
Carl's Coins for Kids: Spare change is collected during worship and that money is donated to ministries directly benefiting children for a set amount of time during the year. Past ministries supported have been Santa's Gift Bag, Heifer International, the Mansfield Area Shoe Bank and the Mansfield Area Food Pantry. Mansfield Area Food Pantry: We support the pantry throughout the year collecting non-perishable food and supporting them monetarily as well. Ashley Paulhamus' Mission to Zambia, Africa: We have supported missionary Ashley Paulhamus on two of her trips to Zambia where she works as a phlebotomist at Zimba Mission Hospital. Great MU Cookie Giveaway: Money is collected before Mansfield University's finals week. With that money, cookies are purchased and supplied to the dorms for students during their study breaks. Mansfield First United Methodist Church's Mansfield Area Shoe Bank: FPC of Mansfield monetarily supports this valuable service for children in Southern Tioga School District in need of shoes from August to May of each school year. We also support Santa's Gift Bag, Tioga County Homeless Initiative, HAVEN of Tioga County and the Bradford/Tioga Head Start financially to strengthen their programs so they can carry out their valuable missions. |
The First Presbyterian Church of Mansfield was founded in 1870.
Mission Statement We, the members of the First Presbyterian Church of Mansfield are committed, both individually and corporately, to be a Christian family whose identity is formed by its obedience to God, seeking to understand Christ and make Him known as we grow in faith, hope, and love, while promoting peace and justice in the world. Vision Statement Since 1870, our church has provided an inviting sanctuary for the worship of God structured by traditional Presbyterian values as we continue to be devoted to serving the greater Mansfield area, as well as Mansfield University. Value Statement Our congregation strives to offer a warm, friendly, caring atmosphere conducive to learning and sharing God’s message through scripture, music and fellowship. We believe there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus; and we know that in everything God works for good with those who love him, who are called according to his purpose (from Romans 8:28). Organizations:
Presbyterian Women Membership dues are $25 annually. The group announces upcoming meetings on the whiteboard in Fellowship Hall. Members support local ministries. Currently they fill stockings for those children and teenagers in need at Christmastime for Santa's Gift Bag. The ladies also handcraft flannel blankets and scarves for those in need with their blanket project ministry. |
